But the lead could be short-lived when eight other Matchday 4 games hold on Thursday.

Sunshine Stars, Enugu Rangers, 3SC, Bayelsa United, Enyimba, Akwa United and Kano Pillars are all in with a shout to go top of the pile on Thursday.

Najeem Olukokun, who made The Predictor's XI for Matchday 3, netted the goal that sealed the win.

The striker's goal was just enough to seal the full points for the Afonja Warriors at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin.

In spite of Heartland head coach, Ndubuisi Nduka, bringing on Jolly Osas and Uchenna Orisakwe, the hosts held for their second win of the season to stay unbeaten.

Kwara United are now on eight points, one above Sunshine Stars in second place with seven.

In the other game on Wednesday, Bauchi club, Wikki Tourists won 2-0 to move away from the bottom spot in the standings for the first time in the last two matchdays.

Two first half goals from Alaba Johnson and Sakin Bolaji ensured that Wikki move out of the bottom four into 12th position.
