Kwara APC Women Elders Hold Special Prayer for Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi-Salihu Ahead of 2027
Prominent women politicians under the aegis of the SYD Kwara Central Women Elders' Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have organised a special prayer session for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The prayer also sought divine support for the APC governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, as well as the party's National Assembly and state House of Assembly candidates.
The well-attended event was held at the AGF AbdulRazaq residence in the Surulere area of Ilorin.
The governor was represented at the gathering by his Senior Adviser and Counsellor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu.
The prayer session was jointly coordinated by Alfa AbdulGaniyu Imam Olojo Adeta and Alfa Surulere Magaji, alongside other Islamic clerics, who recited the entire Qur'an while praying for the success of Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi-Salihu and other APC candidates.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the SYD Kwara Central Women Elders' Caucus, Alhaja Afusatu Bolohunduro, popularly known as Iya Dakor, said the group was motivated by what it described as the achievements of Governor AbdulRazaq over the past seven years.
She said the governor's collaboration with President Tinubu and his administration's performance had encouraged the women to seek divine support for the leaders ahead of the elections.
"We are happy and excited that Governor AbdulRazaq is doing well. We noticed his support and collaboration with President Tinubu to make life abundant for Kwarans and Nigerians," she said.
"We are asking God to ensure the success of Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi-Salihu and all APC candidates at the polls."
Also speaking, the APC Women Leader in Kwara Central, Alhaja Tawa Agaka, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for what she described as his inclusive approach to women and youth development.
Agaka said the administration had prioritised women and youth empowerment, adding that youth-focused initiatives had contributed to peace and stability by positively engaging young people across the state.
Similarly, Alhaja Mariam Salman Isowo from Ilorin West said the governor's performance and support for women were among the reasons for organising the prayer.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Ipata Anifowose, Sheikh AbdulKadir Mustapha Alahonpe, described Governor AbdulRazaq as a leader who conducts the affairs of the state with the fear of God.
The cleric also praised the governor as a fair and detribalised leader, citing his support for the emergence of a Kwara North candidate, Danladi-Salihu, as the APC's governorship flagbearer for the 2027 election.
