PDP House of Assembly Candidate Adeleke Receives INEC Nomination Forms, Thanks Saraki

Date: 2026-07-14

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly candidate for Odo-Ogun Constituency in Kwara State, Adebayo Adeleke, has expressed appreciation to former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the leadership of the party after receiving his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adeleke, in a statement issued on Friday in Ilorin, described his emergence as the party's candidate as a collective victory for members of the PDP and residents of Odo-Ogun State Constituency.

He specifically thanked Saraki, alongside the state, local government and ward leadership of the PDP, for what he described as their confidence in his candidacy.

"I deeply appreciate the confidence reposed in me by Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the leadership of our great party at the state, local government and ward levels. I consider this a collective victory for the people of Odo-Ogun State Constituency," he said.

The PDP candidate pledged to unite party members ahead of the polls, assuring them that no stakeholder would be sidelined in the campaign for victory.

According to him, his aspiration is driven by the desire to provide effective representation and address what he described as years of inadequate representation in the constituency.

Adeleke lamented what he called the absence of quality representation and meaningful human capital development initiatives in the constituency over the past seven years, promising to pursue people-oriented programmes if elected.

"My priority is to provide quality representation that gives every constituent a sense of belonging. We will pursue programmes that create opportunities for our youths, empower women, support local businesses and attract meaningful development to our communities," he stated.

He also pledged to champion legislation and initiatives aimed at expanding educational opportunities for young people, promoting women's empowerment and creating economic opportunities for residents across the constituency.

The PDP flag bearer further assured constituents that his campaign would be issue-based, anchored on integrity, accountability and service to the people.

He expressed optimism that sustained grassroots mobilisation and unity within the party would deliver victory for the PDP in Odo-Ogun State Constituency during the 2027 elections.

Arewa PUNCH reports that the development comes as political parties across the country intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with aspirants receiving nomination documents and commencing consultations ahead of the official campaign period.
