Gov AbdulRazaq Deploys Medical Doctors to Alapa, Afon, Iponrin, Ajikobi, Ajase-Ipo Hospitals
The Kwara State Government has recruited and deployed medical doctors to selected health facilities across the state as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and strengthen service delivery at the grassroots level.
The deployment, which was announced in a statement issued on Sunday night by the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, covers hospitals in Alapa, Afon, Iponrin, Ajikobi, and Ajase-Ipo.
According to the statement, Cottage Hospital Alapa, General Hospital Afon, and Cottage Hospital Iponrin have each received a medical doctor. These professionals have been deployed to their respective facilities and have commenced active medical services to patients.
The management explained that the move was aimed at ensuring that residents of the affected communities have direct access to professional medical attention without unnecessary referrals to distant health facilities.
It added that Cottage Hospital Ajikobi and Cottage Hospital Ajase-Ipo have also received additional medical doctors to support those already on ground, noting that the reinforcement would ease the workload and enhance efficiency in service delivery.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, said the recruitment and deployment were deliberate steps by the state government to strengthen the healthcare system.
"The recruitment and deployment of medical doctors to our hospitals is part of deliberate efforts by the Kwara State Government to bring quality healthcare closer to the people," Malik said.
"By strengthening staffing at these facilities, we are improving service delivery and ensuring that our communities have better access to timely and professional medical care," he added.
Malik further stated that the initiative aligns with the policy direction of the state government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who has prioritised investment in human capital as a key pillar of healthcare reform.
"This deployment reflects His Excellency's drive to strengthen community-level healthcare through qualified medical staffing," he maintained.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Government has reassured residents of its continued commitment to recruiting qualified healthcare professionals and improving health service delivery in line with its vision of accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all Kwarans.
