The organising committee of the Kwara Kiddies YEG League has announced that the grand finale of the 2025 edition (Season IV) will take place on Sunday, December 14, at the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) pitch in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The event marks the culmination of an exciting and competitive season of grassroots youth football, which kicked off in 2022 with a U-12 league for academies in the state.
The league's profile has been significantly boosted by its chairman and major sponsor, Nottingham Forest and Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi.
Awoniyi signed a four-year sponsorship agreement with the league organisers (Youth Elite Group) in June 2024, which saw him become the major sponsor from the third season.
In July 2025, Awoniyi announced he had become the majority shareholder (50%) and now serves as the Chairman of the league, reflecting a deeper personal commitment to grassroots development in his home state.
Through Awoniyi's support, the league has been listed on Wyscout, the world's leading scouting and video analysis platform, providing young players unprecedented visibility to professional scouts globally.
Throughout Season IV, the league has offered children unique opportunities to develop their skills, build discipline, and embrace teamwork through well-organised competitive matches.
Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to host an array of sports stakeholders at the final. Other notable personalities anticipated to attend include:
The Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Idris Musa.
The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji.
The Kwara Football Academy (KFA), the winner of the 2024 edition (Season III) for the third time in a row, is expected to participate in the final showdown.
