NUT Hails Ahmed on Promotion of 12,000 Teachers
The Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed over the approval of the promotion of over 12,000 primary and secondary school teachers in the state.
The promotion affected 10,046 primary school teachers and 2,015 secondary school teachers.
NUT in a statement signed by its state Chairman, Alhaji Farooq Akanbi and Assistant General Secretary, Chief Wale Oyeniyi, lauded the humane posture of Governor Ahmed leading to the approval of the promotion exercise.
Describing the governor as God-sent to the entire teachers in the state, the statement said the promotion exercise would go a long way in boosting the morale of the teachers.
The statement praised the chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barrister Lanre Daibu, Teaching Service Commission, Hon. Umar Mahmud Aboki, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye, and the Executive Secretary of Teaching Service Commission, Chief Ayobola Samuel, for the actualization of the exercise.
It particularly gave kudos to the authority of SUBEB for effecting the incremental credit of the remaining 15,000 primary school teachers who were due for promotion.
NUT however implored teachers in both primary and secondary schools in the state to reciprocate the gesture through the demonstration of dedication and productivity in the discharge of the duties.
