Five Dead in Suspected Terror Attacks Across Baruten LGA as Residents Flee for Safety
Five people have been killed in suspected terror attacks within the past 24 hours in Baruten Local Government Area (LGA), Kwara State.
The first incident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 8:00 p.m. in a hamlet near Karonzi village, where two Fulani individuals were killed by attackers. A resident of the community, speaking to Channels Television via telephone, stated that the violence prompted locals to flee to nearby areas for safety.
A second attack unfolded on Thursday around 4:00 p.m. when a group of twelve armed men ambushed a motorcycle carrying three passengers in another village within the LGA. All three passengers were killed instantly.
The incidents highlight escalating security concerns in the region, with authorities urged to intensify counter-terrorism efforts to protect lives and property.
