They began their campaign with a Round of 64 win over Yobe Desert Stars, before defeating Katsina United, Enyimba FC, and Nasarawa United in successive rounds. Their run marks the first time a team from Ebonyi State has reached the President's Cup final.
In the other semi-final, Kwara United defeated five-time champions Rangers International 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
