Embrace Baseball: Sports Leader Urges Nigerian Youth Ahead of Hono League
Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, a pillar of sports development in Nigeria, has pledged unwavering support for grassroots baseball growth, urging young Nigerians to embrace the sport's potential.
Speaking at the Baseball Stadium in Ilorin, venue of the upcoming Hono Baseball League set to kick off on Monday, Ejidike emphasised the sport's suitability for Nigerian youth. “Baseball offers immense opportunities for physical development, teamwork, and discipline. Youngsters should seize this chance to excel,” he stated.
Ejidike, renowned for his contributions to Nigerian sports, highlighted the league as a platform to nurture talent and foster national interest in baseball.
“The office of the Piller of Sports in Nigeria is ready to support this competition and also the game.
“We can only urge youngsters and athletes to take advantage of what Hono has brought to Kwara State,” said.
Four states, Bayelsa, Oyo, Ondo and Delta joins the host, Kwara in the league game which will end on Saturday.
The sponsor, Hono, is a farming machine and equipment supply giant based in Kwara and with branches in Nigeria and the West African subregion.
