Eid el-Fitr Declared for Sunday 30th March as Emir of Ilorin Confirms Shawwal Moon Sighting
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has declared that Eid el-Fitr will be observed tomorrow, Sunday 30th March 2025, following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal 1446 crescent moon.
This marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir confirmed that he consulted extensively with prominent traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammadu Saad Abubakar CFR, and the Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Ibn Garbai Ibn El-Kanemi, to align with the nationwide Islamic calendar.
