Kwara Clerics Urge Devotion and Good Deeds During Holy Month of Ramadan
Islamic scholars and clerics in Kwara State have underscored the importance of performing good deeds, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
At a Ramadan lecture and special prayer programme organised in Ilorin for the continued success of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's administration, Islamic scholar Sheikh Mudazir Maikudi encouraged attendees to embrace virtues such as generosity, patience, and unwavering devotion to Allah. He stressed that acts of kindness and sincerity attract divine blessings and foster communal harmony.
The event, coordinated by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Yakub Babatunde Ajadi Prudent, gathered religious scholars, political figures, and community leaders.
Sheikh Maikudi praised the organiser for his dedication to public service and prayed for his sustained progress in future endeavours.
In his guest lecture, the Chief Missioner of Ansarul Islam, Sheikh Abdulmumeen Anafi Ayara, spoke on the essence of righteousness during Ramadan, urging believers to remain steadfast in their faith and contribute positively to society.
He also highlighted Hon. Yakub Prudent's dedication to community development, describing him as a man of integrity and a strong pillar of support for the people.
The prayer session was led by the Ajanasi of Ilorin, Dr Mujitaba Bature Yusuf, who delivered supplications for Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. In his prayer, Dr Bature emphasised that the well-being of a leader directly affects the well-being of his people.
He invoked divine guidance for the governor, praying that Allah grants him wisdom, strength, and continued success in his leadership. He also urged the people to support their leaders through prayers and constructive engagement, reinforcing the Islamic principle that leadership is a trust bestowed by Allah.
The event was attended by notable personalities, including the Non-Executive Director of NNPC, Dr Ghali Alaya; Hon. Nafisat Buge, Commissioner for Environment; Usman Yunusa Lade, Commissioner for Water Resources; Hon. Saadudeen Salahuddeen, Special Adviser and Councillor to the Kwara Governor; Hon. Oba Abdulkadri Magaji, House Leader, KWHA; Hon. Maryam Aladi, Member representing Ilorin South Constituency at KWHA; Alhaji Turawa, APC Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman; Hon. Lukman Agbelere, Chairman, Ilorin East; Hon. Majeed Podo, Chairman, Ilorin South; Hon. Abdulwasiu Motunrayo, Chairperson, Moro Local Government; and Hon. Abdulgafar Ladan, Chairman, Ilorin West.
Others included Hon. Sulaiman Duduyemi, APC Youth Leader; Hon. Zubair Ibrahim Danmaigoro, SSA on Religious Matters to the Kwara Governor; Hon. Abdullateef Adebara, Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs; and Hon. Suleiman Lekan Gaddaf, Chairman of the Gaddaf Future Care Foundation, among other stakeholders.
