Ex-Senate President Hails Baraje as ‘Visionary Leader and Educationist

Former Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has extended his congratulations to the former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Kawu Baraje, on his 74th birthday.

In a statement, Saraki prayed to Almighty Allah for Baraje's continued good health, abundant wisdom, and greater success in all his endeavours.

Similarly, a former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Kabir Ajanah, described Baraje as an exemplary leader, visionary educationist, devoted father and husband, and seasoned politician. Ajanah, who holds the traditional title of Madakin Ibira, noted that Baraje's life exemplifies dedication, perseverance, and service to humanity.

As an elder statesman, Ajanah added, Baraje’s wisdom and experience have guided countless individuals and institutions, including himself. He further highlighted Baraje’s significant contributions to education, which have empowered generations, shaping minds and fostering growth.

“As a caring father and husband, your love and support have created a nurturing environment for your family to thrive. Your political acumen has inspired trust and confidence in those you serve.

“On this special day, we celebrate your remarkable life, honouring your achievements, and expressing gratitude for your tireless efforts to make the world a better place. May this milestone mark the beginning of more years filled with joy, good health, and continued success” he said.

PDP Hails his contributions to Kwara and National Democracy

The PDP in Kwara State also felicitated with the former National Chairman of the party and the Tafida Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Baraje, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, the party extolled Alhaji Baraje as a true elder statesman, a distinguished public servant, and a committed democrat who has contributed immensely to the growth of democracy in Kwara and Nigeria at large.

“Alhaji Kawu Baraje’s sterling career in public service, where he rose through the ranks to the pinnacle of his profession, is a testament to his dedication, competence, and unwavering commitment to nation-building”.

The statement stated further that his humanitarian services, particularly in education and human resource development, have left an indelible mark in the minds of an average Ilorin people.

“As the saying goes, investment in human resources is the greatest asset. Alhaji Baraje has demonstrated this through his establishment of the Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Ilorin, a citadel of learning that has produced vibrant Islamic clerics and positively reshaped the lives of numerous Ilorin youngsters. His commitment to empowering the next generation through knowledge and mentorship is truly commendable” the statement also emphasised.

It added that the party will continue to appreciate and cherish such a noble and distinguished personality stressing that Tafida has remained a pillar of strength, a mentor to many young politicians across the country, and a steadfast party man whose contributions to the PDP remain invaluable.

“On this auspicious occasion, we celebrate an outstanding nationalist and a builder of youths. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him long life, peace of mind, and abundant financial success to continue his impactful contributions to Kwara State and Nigeria” according to the statement.

Members of his family, friends and political associates converged at his GRA residence in Ilorin the Kwara State Capital to offer prayers for him.
