AIT Correspondent Olufemi Akobi Wins Best Broadcast Reporter of the Year for Second Time
As reported by AIT News, Olufemi Akobi, the Kwara State correspondent for Africa Independent Television (AIT), has been named the Best Broadcast Reporter of the Year for the second time in three years at the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State.
Akobi, a graduate of Mass Communication from Kogi State University, Anyigba, joined AIT in 2014 and has since earned a reputation as a fearless and creative broadcast reporter. He first won the prestigious award in 2021 and continues to be recognized for his outstanding contributions to journalism.
Akobi has dedicated the award to the Management and staff of DAAR Communications PLC for the opportunity and support he has received in the course of his work.
The award was presented at the 2024 Press Week of the Correspondents Chapel of Kwara State Council of the NUJ in Ilorin.
Speaking on the theme “Fostering Good Governance through Effective Journalism” speakers called on Journalists to rededicate themselves to investigative journalism with a view to making public office holders accountable to the people.
