University of Ilorin Promotes 16 Senior Academics to Professors
The University of Ilorin has announced the promotion of 16 senior academics to the rank of Professor, recognising their exceptional achievements in teaching, research, and community service.
According to a news report from the University of Ilorin Official X handle, the elevation follows the recommendations of the University Appointment and Promotion Committee (A&PC) and the approval of the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN.
A statement from the Office of the Registrar highlighted that the 16 distinguished scholars excelled in the realms of teaching, research, and community service. The Faculty of Clinical Sciences produced three new Professors: Prof. John Kola Olarinoye, Prof. James Ayodele Ogunmodede, and Prof. Simeon Kayode Olubiyi.
From the Faculty of Education, Prof. Abdulrahman Suyuti Omosidi was promoted, specialising in Educational Management. Additionally, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology saw the elevation of Prof. Kamorudeen Olaniyi Yusuf and Prof. Habeeb Adewale Ajimotokan to the rank of Professor.
