According to him, some of the current crop of players in the Super Eagles are products of private owned football academies.

“I was the administrator of Football College, Abuja and I know the importance of the private sector in the football industry.

“We were able to groom players who have broken into the various national teams in the men's category.

“Most of the current crop of players in the Super Eagles are products of the private sector and I am proud to be one of them.

“Players like Sadiq Umar and Dennis Bonaventure are part of such projects”, Kumbi noted, calling for support from the government.

In his remarks, Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh, lauded the initiator of the project which he said will add value to the community.

On his part, Special Assistant (SA) on Grassroots Sports Development to the Minister, Hon Adeboye Adeyinka, said the land where the project is situated was donated by the community.
