Fuel subsidy: Kwara labour unions join nationwide protest
Kwara State labour unions and other stakeholders on Wednesday joined the nationwide protest and strike action directed by the national bodies of labour movements in the country over hardships triggered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's fuel subsidy removal.
The protesters had reached the Governor's office in Ilorin, the state capital, at about 9 am, heading to the Government House on Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin, to deliver their grievances to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
DAILY POST reports that the protesters were peaceful in their conduct.
Recall that the state Police Commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, on Tuesday summoned a meeting of labour leaders, students unions and heads of security agencies to plead for peaceful protest if eventually, the action would hold.
