Constituents Hail Kwara State Lawmaker For Quality Representation
They expressed their feelings at the reception organised for Olawuyi.
The speakers, who took turns to appreciate the lawmaker for his developmental impact across the 42 wards of the constituency, described his re-election and subsequent inauguration for the 10th Assembly as a blessing to the constituency.
Retired Maj.-Gen. Lasisi Abidoye, the President of the Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA), described the various projects, programmes and initiatives executed by Olawuyi as unprecedented in the constituency's history.
Abidoye, also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara South, said the constituency was lucky and honoured to have Olawuyi as its representative at the National Assembly.
He noted that Olawuyi's notable positive impacts were just the tip of the iceberg, saying that his recent inauguration as a member of the 10th Assembly would bring more progress and development to the constituency.
The ODA president, therefore, urged the constituents to continue to render the required support and synergy for Olawuyi in his efforts to move the constituency forward politically, socially and economically.
On his part, Mr Shuaib Olanrewaju (aka Sofab) praised Olawuyi for prioritising the welfare and well-being of the people of the constituency.
He urged the federal lawmaker to channel more resources to the area for human capital development by equipping the constituents with more employment and empowerment opportunities so as to spread dividends of democracy to every part of the constituency.
“We need more of Olawuyi in position of authority across the wards. We need more employment and empowerment for our people.
“Please use your position to get more of our people equipped and enriched in the councils, towns and villages to complement your various impacts.
“This is the only way the much talked about dividends of democracy can be spread across the length and breadth of the constituency,” he said.
Contributing, Mrs Zainab Abbas, an APC chieftain from Offa, praised Olawuyi for promoting the policy thrust and developmental drive of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara through his representation.
“Just as Gov. AbdulRazaq is giving women in the state the desired recognition and participation in his administration, so also Rep. Olawuyi is doing his best for women and youths in the constituency.
“Women in the constituency and Kwara at large are proud of your representation and achievements, and promised more support and synergy for you to do more in the current dispensation,” she said.
Mr Jide Oyinloye, the Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, promised that the council would not relent in its support for Olawuyi in order to impact more value and improve the living standard of the people.
Earlier, Olawuyi said the reception was a follow-up to the 10th National Assembly inauguration in Abuja to give the constituency's people a sense of belonging.
“Not everyone can make it to Abuja for the 10th Assembly inauguration and as a representative who is always close to his people I decided to organise this as a mark of appreciation for your support so far,” he said.
