KWASU Acting VC Charges New Professors to be Productive
    
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has urged newly promoted professors of the University to be reinvigorated and bring their wealth of experience to bear in their teaching, research and community service.
He gave the charge at a reception, held in honour of the new professors, on Wednesday May 6, 2023, at the Council Chamber of KWASU Business School, Ilorin.
Professor Luqman who stressed that the institution is looking up to them to come up with ideas and innovations to help move the institution and State forward also urged them to actively mentor younger academics and students as a way of giving back to humanity.
He commended the Deans of the Faculties that produced the new professors for the support given to the honorees to reach the peak of their careers, adding that with the promotion, comes more responsibility.
In his response on behalf of the honorees, Professor Yahya Duro Uthman Hambali who expressed appreciation to the management of the University also pledged to continue to give their best to the Institution.
Present at the ceremony were Principal officers and Deans of Faculties of the University as well as spouses and relatives of the honorees.
It would be recalled that the Governing Council of the University at its 64th and 65th Regular Meetings approved the promotion of seven Professors from the faculties of Agriculture; Education, Humanities; Law; and, Management and Social Sciences.
The new Professors are, Professor Taibat Moji Yusuf, Professor Dupe Olufunke Ogunbosoye, Professor Imoloame O. Emmanuel and Professor Ngozi Bibiana Nwabufo.
The others are Professor Salih Muhammed Jum'ah Alaso, Professor Yahya Duro Uthman Hambali and Professor Issa Abdulraheem.
