In the effort to continue to prioritise public assets with a view to improve the socio – economic well-being of the entire citizens, Kwara State Government has assured of more road construction for 2021 as rehabilitation will continue.

In furtherance of this, Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency under the Ministry of Works is currently carrying out Road Maintenance / Rehabilitation work on the following roads within the Metropolis:

1. Garage Offa Roundabout through Asadam to Geri Alimi Underpass - Ongoing

2. Sango Akerebiata Road - Ongoing

3. Unity Road to Post Office - Ongoing

4. Oloje/Alore Road - Ongoing

5. Taiwo Road - Ongoing

6. Kaduna Road Adewole - Ongoing

7. Ipata Market to Maraba - Completed

8. Culvert at Chapel road Tanke Oke-Odo – Ongoing

9. Rehabilitation of Muhammed Ahmed Road through PANAT - Completed

10. Rehabilitation of Mahogany Road Ilorin - Ongoing 11. Construction of Alternative Culvert at Kuye River Patigi Road

12. Construction of at Oyun Tepatan Road

Kwara State Commissioner for Works also noted the influx of Trailers / heavy trucks through the township roads due to the bad road between Eyenkorin and Oko-Olowo. Engineer Rotimi who was at the damaged section of the Oko-Olowo road told residents that the Kwara Ministry of Works is working closely with the Federal Ministry of Works to see to how the contractor is called back to site for the damaged section to be speedily repaired. Also present at the section are the Director Civil Engineering, Engr Biliaminu Folorunsho and the Chief Executive Officer of KWARTMA (Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority) Mr. Yekeen Tunde Bello.

Road users are urged to drive with caution as the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq continues to make Kwara better for every Kwaran.
