Saraki congratulates Obasanjo on AU appointment

A former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has congratulated a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his recent appointment by the Chairperson of the African Union to serve as the AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

This is contained in a statement issued by Saraki's media office, on Saturday, titled, 'Saraki congratulates Obasanjo on AU appointment'.

The former Senate President stated that Obasanjo's appointment was a testament to his "profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world."

Saraki stated that he was sure that Obasanjo's appointment would make Nigeria proud.

He said, "I congratulate H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo on his appointment as the African Union High Representative for the Horn of Africa.

"As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability in and amongst its Member States, President Obasanjo's profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to meet these objectives.

"As he begins this strategic assignment on behalf of the continent, I wish our former President success - and know that he will make our nation proud," Saraki stated.
