Ill-prepared leaders governing Kwara, says APC chieftain

Date: 2021-08-20

The President, Nations Leadership Institute (NLI), Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, has said Kwara State has over the years been governed by ill-prepared leaders.

He attributed the slide in Nigeria's quality of political leadership to inappropriate mentorship.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in the state said his institute is embarking on political revolution through dialogue to salvage the situation.

He spoke in Ilorin at the launch of a weekly political dialogue for 50 youths across the 16 local governments.

But the state APC described Akogun Oyedepo's statement as amounting to intra-party opposition in the state.

The party said nothing qualified him as a statesman or political leader for advancing ridiculous positions as conditions for peace with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

APC spokesman Alhaji Tajudeen Folaranmi said: "We are equally aware that Akogun and his dream merchants promising the fall of APC have surreptitiously prepared an alternative vehicle ahead of the 2023 general election, and are unsparing in destroying APC."
