The National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU),Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,has commiserated with the Grand Patron of the Union and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR,on the death of the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Alhaji Abubakar Akanbi-Jos,describing his death as a monumental loss to the good people of Ilorin Emirate.

Alhaji Uthman, in a statement signed by the Union's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, said that the Union received the news of the death of the Balogun Alanamu with rude shock but with total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah.

The community leader described the late Alhaji Jos as a forthright public servant and a distinguished elder statesman who offered his all towards the development of Ilorin Emirate before and throughout his tenure as the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin.

Alhaji Uthman also commiserated with the Balogun Gambari,who is also the Balogun Agba of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Adebayo Aliyu, and other members of the Ilorin Emirate Council on the death of a colleague.

Alhaji Uthman similarly sympathised with the immediate family of the deceased and the entire members of the Balogun Alanamu chieftaincy family as well as chiefs and people of Balogun Alanamu traditional political constituency and Ilorin Emirate at large over the death of the traditional ruler.

The statement urged all the bereaved to take consolation in the fact that the late Alhaji Akanbi-Jos lived a very good life as a Muslim and was also able to serve his community and humanity to the best of his ability.

The Union prayed Allah to grant all the bereaved the fortitude to bear the passage of Alhaji Jos and the deceased Al-Janat fridaouz.
