ABS Denies Releasing Abalogu, Others

Date: 2012-10-17

The management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) of Ilorin said it has not reached any agreement with Enyimba FC of Aba for the transfer of Andrew Abalogu and Bright Esienne to the Aba based team.

Officials of the People's Elephants had claimed that Abalogu, alongside Bright Esieme were almost set to join them ahead of the new season but ABS denied the claims, saying that both players were still with it.

Team manager of ABS Alloy Chukwuemeka who disclosed this, also refuted reports that top scorer Bashiru Abdulraham has been cleared to join league champions, Kano Pillars.

On Abalogu and Esienne, he said Enyimba only made enquiries about the duo on phone, while in the case of Bashir, he said the club was not ready to listen to any offer from any local club for his services.

The Ilorin based team added that it will shun offers for its key players ahead of the 2012/13 season.

A number of clubs have been on the heels of some outstanding players of the modest club with the aim of luring them away from the Ilorin based side.

However, management of the club, which narrowly escaped relegation last season has decided to shut its door against other clubs from gaining access to the players.

While warning those already talking to some of the players to discontinue, the management, according to Chukwuemeka, has decided to retain all the key players of the team ahead of next season.
