We Are Not Keeping Quiet On Reopening of Schools - KWSG

Date: 2020-09-15

Kwara State Government has said that plans are being put in place to ensure smooth reopening of schools as soon as possible in the State.

This was stated by the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Ahmed Fatimah Bisola today while interacting with newsmen in her office.

Hajia Fatimah noted that the State will not reopen schools just because some other states have declared to reopen their schools.

She explained that the State is working hard to ensure that adequate measures are put in position to avoid risking the lives of the pupils, students as well as the Government's staff at various schools.

The Honourable Commissioner however disclosed that Kwara State will definitely key into what neighboring states are doing immediately after adequate measures have been put in place.

She thereby implored all parents and guardians to continue sensitising their wards before they will be called back to school soon.

"They should make them know that they are not just staying at home for the sake of staying at home. Covid-19 pandemic situation has forced them to stay at home and now that we are preparing to go back to school, they must be adequately sensitised on the risks of not complying to the laid down guidelines by the NCDC and the importance of keeping good hygiene at all times", she said.
