Ahmed Lauds Appointment of Service Chiefs
Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of has described the appointment of Rear Admiral Ibrahim Ola Sa'ad as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and two other Service Chiefs by President Goodluck Jonathan as a demonstration of a firm effort to strengthen the strive for peace in Nigeria, even as he charged the appointees to adopt profound intelligence information gathering in tackling the incessant security challenges in the country.
The governor, in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, noted: "Despite all efforts put in place by evil forces to disintegrate Nigeria, the legacies of our founding fathers have been reference factors and searchlights for sustained unity."
Ahmed said the appointment of Admiral Sa'ad marks another good tiding to Nigerians, as this is yet another milestone in the history of Kwara State, which has become the hub of peace in the country.
While commending men and officers in the military for their efforts in sustaining democracy, the governor assured them that the country would continue to appreciate their initiatives in the quest for a unified and peaceful sovereign nation.
He laudable by the immediate past CDS, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyin Petinrin, for his achievements in many areas, including capacity building, which has earned the Nigerian military high marks among its contemporaries, not only in Africa, but across the world.
While congratulating the new CDS and other service chiefs, Ahmed added: "Always remember that your appointment is a testimony of your high level of integrity, commitment to work and call to service to humanity most especially at this crucial period when security challenges is threatening our peaceful co-existence as federating unit."
