Re: Gurei Youths caution Gov. AbdulRazaq against relocation of Federal College of Science and Technology
Our attention has been drawn to a statement purportedly made by Gurei Youth Ambassador, claiming the proposed Federal Government College of Science and Technology in Baruten local government was sealed to be located in Gurei.
It is instructive to set the fact straight, to avoid overheating the polity and ignorantly putting our local government at greater disadvantage.
It should be clear that it is exclusive prerogative of the Federal Ministry of Education to consider the suitable location(s) to be considered for the proposed college and conclusion on such location can only be reached after onsite inspection by technical team of the FME.
We want our brothers from Gurei to note that the FME technical team was sent from Abuja with a letter to inspect 2 locations; Government Secondary School, Gwanara and Open field, Gwanara respectively.
It is therefore outright falsehood, that Gurei, which was not slated for inspection for location of the college by FME was robbed of the site.
We should appreciate the support of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwarans state for his genuine interest in Kwara North and not be the architect of our further negligence as Kwara Northerners. He has only shown political will and encouraged the technical team on considering the state and Baruten local government for site of the school and thus, would be unfair to ourselves if we crucify him for that.
It is therefore advisable to put all hands on deck for the greater interest of Baruten local government and Kwara North.
