Kwara Speaker promises improved welfare package for Assembly staff

The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu has promised improved welfare package for the staff of the Kwara state House of Assembly.

Hon. Yakubu made this disclosure, during an interactive session with the principal officers and staff of various departments of the House.

The Speaker, who was accompanied by other principal officers of the House appealed for the support and cooperation of the House of Assembly staff, he charged them on punctuality, loyalty and sincerity in discharging their duties.

"The door is not open for negativity and retrogressive discourse, we are in for progressive legislation which cannot be achieved without your cooperation", he said.

He said "the enough is enough we said during campaign is not about Saraki or PDP, but about individuality. it should start with us all. We must check ourselves and be conscientious of what we do and be sure they are right".

The Speaker further charged the Assembly staff to protect the image of the 9th Assembly through their conducts, noting that the world is now a digital village and they don't want to be embarrassed by conduct of any employee.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, Hajia Jumai Kperogi, the Clerk of House implored leadership of the 9th House of Assembly to offer supports to the workforce whenever need arises and promised they will reciprocate by giving maximum support that will enhance outstanding performance of the 9th Assembly.

The employees who appreciated the Speaker for finding it worthy of engaging them, implored the leadership of the 9th House of Assembly to look into the areas of some understaffed departments and staff training and capacity development, noting that the last time they were sponsored for any from of capacity development training was about 8years ago.
