Etsu Patigi's death shocking - Kwara governor-elect

Date: 2019-03-20

Kwara governor-elect, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has described the death of the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar as shocking and regretful.

AbdulRazaq said this in Ilorin on Wednesday in a statement signed by his media aide, Rafiu Ajakaye. He said the late first class monarch had a legacy of uniting his people for peace and development. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the monarch died on Tuesday night in Abuja.

He said: "The late Etsu Patigi was uncompromising about the unity, peace and development of his people and community. "His legacies are positive and visible; they will live forever in the minds of the people."

AbdulRazaq also commiserated with the Kwara Government, the Emir of Ilorin and the people of Kwara North on the demise of the monarch.

According to him, the monarch brought positive legacies while serving as the vice chairman of the state's Traditional Rulers Council.

He said: "Specifically, we commiserate with his immediate family and the people of Patigi on this sad loss of their monarch.

"We pray the Almighty Allah to stand by the family in this trying period and grant the Etsu Patigi aljannah firdaus."
