Kwara Warns Against Hoarding of Fuel
The Kwara State Government has warned filling station owners across the state against hoarding of petroleum products.
The state Commissioner for Commerce and Cooperatives, Mallam Raji Mohammed during a monitoring exercise of the filling stations in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital yesterday, enjoined oil dealers not to use the opportunity of the fuel challenge to sell the products at an exorbitant price.
Mohammed said "so far so good I think the problem of fuel in the state is getting down slowly, a lot of stations are selling now and stations are getting fuel now. As at today, we have about 611,000 litres of which 352,000 litres are for the metropolis and 240,000000000 is for other part of the state.
Mohammed added that as of yesterday fuel is available at those stations that received fuel on Wednesday.
The commissioner explained that those fuel stations that just gotten the manifest are yet to receive fuel, saying that by today (Friday), the situation would be normal.
He mentioned that his team discovered that some stations want to use the opportunity of the situation to sell exorbitantly which he has directed that fuel must be sold at the normal price.
Some of the stations visited include Oklar Petroleum, Sobi road, Habeeb Petroleum, Agric area, Ilorin, Immam Petroleum, Sango, Jezdeb Oil, Akerebiata and Oklanr Petroelum, Sobi road.
