Kwara PDP Gov'ship Candidate Promises To Patronise Local Contractors

Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Hon Razak Atunwa has promised to patronise and empower local contractors in the state if elected as the state's next governor in the forthcoming election.

Atunwa, during a campaign across communities in Moro local government area in the northern axis of the state said it has become imperative to ensure that local businesses are brought into the mainstream of government programmes through patronage.

He said, "You are all in politics because it should yield something back to you in return and the only way we can achieve this is to ensure that we patronise you at your local level. So under our administration we will ensure that we do that, giving jobs to local contractors who have the capacity for excellent work."

The gubernatorial hopeful who promised to run a people oriented administration lamented the rate of unemployment among the youths in the country and said he has put in place strategic intervention mechanism to reduce the rate of youth unemployment in Kwara State.

At Shao, Kwara State governor, Alh Abdulfatah Ahmed told the Ohoro of Shao, Alhaji Bamidele Adegbite that Atunwa will consolidate on the progress his administration has recorded.

"The PDP candidate, Rt. Hon. Razak Atunwa will consolidate on the progress and achievements recorded in Kwara," Governor Ahmed said during his remarks.

The governor noted that Atunwa has a sound understanding of the workings of the Kwara State government, owing to his demonstrated track record of public service.

He added, "There is no other governorship candidate that can boast of a rich intermixture of executive and legislative experience." He reassured that Governor Atunwa would deliver sustained prosperity to the people of Kwara State.

Responding, the Ohoro of Shao, thanked Governor Ahmed for his sustained investment in infrastructure.

He promised that the people of the town would continue to offer their support to the government and the PDP.
