Maigida Steps Up Infrastructural Development In Kwara

Date: 2018-09-20

At a time other states are either struggling to pay salaries or have abandoned infrastructure, a different scenario is playing out in Kwara State. Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed has stepped up infrastructural development in every part of Kwara state despite the resource challenges facing states in the country.

Every local government area and even majority of communities in the state have benefitted from developmental projects initiated and executed by the current administration in the state, including those inherited from the previous administration.

Without mincing words, Governor Ahmed has boosted infrastructural development as the government has implemented roads, bridges, hospitals, construction/renovation of classrooms, rural electrification, water works and other impactful projects across the state.

To this end, some projects which seemed destined for abandonment have either been delivered or are near completion as a result of financial prudency and innovations introduced to governance by Governor Ahmed and his team. The Kwara Infrastructural Development Fund (IF-K) has helped the government keep all its contractors on site and fund projects to completion.

For the records, the governor who served previously as Commissioner for Economic Planning and Finance in the state, is constructing Geri Alimi Diamond Underpass, Dualising Sango-UITH Road, building KWASU Postgraduate School in Ilorin, constructing new secretariat complex, completed over 20 roads, renovated General Hospital Ilorin and implemented other projects in Kwara Central Senatorial district. While KWASU Satellite campus in Ilesha-Baruba, Renovation of General Hospital Kaiama, renovation of Primary Health Centers in Raniworo, pategi and Malete, Sinawu, Ilesha-Baruba-Gwanara road, Shonga-Tsaragi road, Maigida-Arobadi Road, Lafiaji Township Road, Kaiama-Tesse Road with other road projects, were done in Kwara North. Others are construction/renovation of Classrooms, rural électrification network and installation of transformers in over 20 communities, rehabilitation of Waterworks in Lafiaji, drilling of boreholes with reticulation of 15,000-20,000 storage capacity in 10 communities are situated in Kwara North.

In Kwara South, Maigida has executed over 200 projects across all sectors from road, education, health, energy, health, and water. This shows the governor loves his people and the entire people of the state that elected him and is also focused on ensuring every part of the state feels the impact of governance. In Kwara South, some of the projects are International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (IVTEC), Ajase-Ipo, Kwara State University (KWASU) Satellite Campus, Osi in Ekiti local government, Rehabilitation of General Hospital, Share, Offa and Omu Aran, Construction of 3 blocks of 24 units open market stalls at Aiyedun, Construction of Eruku-Koro road Rehabilitation of three Damaged Schools at Share, Completion and equipping of Rehabilitation Centre Amayo, Offarese Primary Health Centre, Ifelodun LGA, Construction of College of Nursing and Midwifery, Oke-ode (Female Hostel), Construction of Omu-Aran township-landmark university road, Irepodun Primary Health Centre, Arandun, Irepodun LGA and Rural Electrification works of Kabba Kajola. Other projects are; Construction of Isanlu-Isin-Ijara-Isin road, Isin, Offa-Irra road, Rural Electrification works on the electrification of Oriho Ikotun, Odo-owa Primary Health Care, Oke-Ero LGA, Anilelerin Road, Offa, Lamodi Primary Health Centre, Offa LGA, Oloro Palace, Okerimi Road, Obbo-Ile-Isale, Rd, Share-Oke Ode Road, Arandun-Rore-Arandun-Rore-Aran-Orin-Ipetu Road, Oke-Opin Township Road etc. Clearly, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has raised the bar of development, not just in Kwara South but also across the state in General. He has given a good account of himself and is ready to provide the needed leadership and quality representation in Kwara South.
