Date: 2018-06-15

Former Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the police and other security agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder of the Director of Planning in the state Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, *Mr Kayode Victor Dada* .

The erstwhile lawmakers also urged the security agencies to fish out the assailants and ensure that they face justice.

A joint statement signed by the forum's Chairman and Secretary, Hon. Layi Ayinde and Hon. Isiaka Mogaji, noted that, the deceased was a committed public officer, who contributed immensely to the service of the state, saying it was unfortunate to terminate his life.

The former lawmakers described the killing of Dada, a native of Oro-ago in Ifelodun Local Government area of the state, as very pathetic and quite unfortunate. The former parliamentarians said the ugly development called for greater concern as all hands must be on deck to rid the state of all forms of criminality. "The assassination of a Director of Planning in the Kwara State Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, Mr Kayode Victor Dada, by a group of five assassins, including a woman in cold blood, last Wednesday, in Ilorin is a dangerous trend in the state, and it is quite unfortunate.

"The deceased was said to have left his office along Lajorin Area of Ilorin, on the fateful day, after receiveing a call that he should come to Airport Road, along Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road, of which he informed his colleagues and left office for the destination, where he met his untimely death in the hands of the assailants.

"We call on the police and other security agencies to immediately and thoroughly investigate this callous and heinous act and fish out the culprits to face justice", the statement said.

The former lawmakers commiserated with the immediate family of late Kayode Victor Dada and Oro-ago Community on the death of the patriotic public officer and prayed to God to grant him eternal rest and strengthen the family he left behind. The statement said, "We also commiserate with the Kwara State government on this ugly development and urge the state government to be magnanimous by assisting the family of the deceased".
