No fewer than 150 pupils from age six to nine are to participate in the seventh Droplets Basketball Clinic in Ilorin.

The Kwara Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem who made this known to newsmen in Ilorin on Monday, said the Clinic would hold from Aug. 24 to Aug. 29 and will attract schools across the state.

Kazeem commended the initiative of basketball veteran player, Tunji Ayeni, for sustaining the Clinic in the last seven years, adding the clinic had assisted the state government in discovering young talents.

The director said that the clinic is in line with the vision of the government in gainfully engaging the youth through sporting activities.

Kazeem appealed to parents and coaches to keep the children busy during the long vacation.

Also the Initiator of the clinic, Ayeni, explained that the programme is being sustained to ensure the growth of basketball game in the state, particularly among teenagers.

Ayeni promised that this year’s edition will be organised with outreach to five selected schools, promising to make material donations to participating schools. (TNE)
