NSCDC wants NNPC to resume fuel lifting at Oke-oyi depot

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC to commence lifting of petroleum products in Oke Oyi depot in Kwara State.

The corps commandant, Mr. Ideba Pedro, made the call in Ilorin the state capital when he received the President of the Kwaara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Alhaji Ahmed Raji and his executive while on an advocacy visit to his office.

He assured that his officers and men would carry out regular surveillance at all the petroleum pipelines across the state.

The corps commandant disclosed that his officers and men are up to the task of ensuring that lives and properties were well protected. Pedro said that in the past 8 months, his office had sealed up three factories for involvement in illegal activities and arrested suspected criminals for various crimes.

He assured KWACCIMA that the corps will assist and partner with the chamber in achieving all their business programmes and pledge to cooperate with them in ensuring a hitch free trade fair this year in the state. Earlier, President of KWACCIMA, Alhaji Raji commended the corps in the state for providing security for the people and their properties and solicited for more partnership between the two agencies.

Raji announced that all arrangement has begun by the chamber to organise a befitting and well attended Trade fair this year in the state and called for the support of various security outfits and the government for the success of the programme.

In his brief remarks, the Director General of KWACCIMA, Prince Ayo Fagbemi praised the efforts of officers and men of the corps for discharging their duties in a civil manner without any crisis with members of the society and urged other security operatives to emulate the agency.
