UNILORIN don advocates continuous re-training for Mathematics teachers

Government at all levels have been advised to always ensure that the teachings of Mathematics at all levels of education is been handled by professional Mathematics teachers.

A University lecturer in the department of Science Education, University of Ilorin, Professor Medinat Salman stated this on Thursday while delivering the 168th Inaugural Lecture of the University.

ROYAL NEWS reports that the lecture was titled: "Language and Problem Solving: The Mathematics Education Link".

She added that "Ministries should also organize regular training workshops and seminars for Mathematics teachers at primary and secondary schools levels. This will afford them the opportunity to update their knowledge and also give them awareness on innovative methods of teaching the subject."
