The Insurance FC of Benin on Saturday secured their second consecutive home victory in the Nigeria National League (NNL), beating Papilo FC by two goals to one.

He assured team of his administration's total support for the club to gain promotion at the end of the season. Shaibu had on Friday urged the players to see his training with them as a moral booster to win Saturday's match against Papilo.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the 2016/2017 Nigeria National League (NNL) Northern Conference match day 2 was played at the Kwara stadium Complex, Ilorin.

The visitors opened scoring through Manasseh Agwuaza in the 8th minute to put the homers under pressure.

The visitors had capitalized on a defensive blunder to score from a close range.

Five minutes later, Michael Ohanu level the scoreline from a clinical finish to the admiration of the spectators at the stadium.

Kwara United took the lead a minute into second half through a spot kick cleverly converted by Segun Alebiosu.

Harmony Boys' Sunday Odudu had been brought down by a Zamfara United defender to win the penalty.

The host came out stronger in the second half while the John Obuh wards showed better understanding to half time talk than their visitors.

The Harmony Boys dominated most of the proceedings in the latter stages of the game and with some dangerous moves.

The persistent pressure by the home team paid off when James Chinedu put the match beyond the visitors with another goal in the 78th minute.

The result means Kwara United had garnered 6 points from two games and are now leading the Northern Conference of the NNL pending the outcome of other games on Sunday.(NAN)
