Kwara begins monthly environmental sanitation

Date: 2016-08-24

The Kwara Government on Tuesday vowed to ensure full compliance with monthly environmental sanitation in the state beginning from Aug. 27.

The state Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Otunba Taiwo Joseph made this pledge in Ilorin while speaking with newsmen.

Joseph said the re-introduction of the exercise was to ensure clean and healthy environment in the state. "We want to restart the monthly environmental sanitation in the state starting from Aug. 27 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

"We noticed that people have been lackadaisical about the environment which can be harmful to health. They dump refuse anyhow and do not clear drainage. "So, we have decided to put everyone to task. We will ensure full compliance and anyone found erring will be sanctioned," Joseph said. (NAN)
