Don't lose hope in Nigeria project, says Saraki

Date: 2012-07-09

Second Republic Senate Leader and the Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki has called on Nigerians not to lose hope in the Nigeria Project. He urged that the leadership should be supported with prayers.

The Kwara political godfather who gave the charge in Ilorin over the weekend,   while addressing hundreds of his supporters and well-wishers who had thronged his country home in Lagos to receive him on his arrival  from his vacation in Los Angeles, United States of America  noted that the country was going through a critical period in her political history, hence, the need for all to give support to the government of the day in all possible means.

The founder of the Northern Union stressed that the nation's unity was not negotiable and it  must not be compromised but rather preserved,  protected and  sustained by the leadership and Nigerians.

He pointed out that the founding fathers of this country fought tooth and nail to have what is today known as Nigeria nation, therefore their sacrifice, efforts and labour must not be in vain.

On his rumoured death about two weeks ago, the political icon responded philosophically: "What you can not give you can not take. Only Allah gives Life and only Him can take it. Alhamdulillahi am back to your midst hale and hearty.

"But I must thank Nigerians at home and in Diaspora who have  expresses concerned and love when they had the unfounded rumour, particularly my good people of Kwara State for their show of love, prayers and steadfastness,  God Almighty would continue to shower His  blessings and mercies on you all.

"Let me assured my people that very soon I will be coming round to see them I have missed them greatly."

Speaking on behalf of Kwara delegation after a special prayers was offered to thank Allah for the safe return of Dr Sola Saraki,  the state Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani rejoiced with Kwarans and thank God for bringing back safely, the great god-father of Nigeria politics.

Ishola also thank those who had thronged the country home from across the country for their show of love and brotherhood, assuring that the  party and the administration of PDP in Kwara  would continue to uphold the legacy of selfless services and sharing of prosperity,  "a culture our father has imbibed in all of us."

Those in attendance included Senator Bukola Saraki (CON), political associates and children , members of national and state Assembly, both serving and former members, government functionaries from across the country and well-wishers.
