Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Ali Ahmad has said that the value of Nigerian workers' contribution to the development of the country has been underestimated, stressing that these ones deserve the best from employers of labour.
In a statement issued by the Speaker's Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir to commemorate the 2016 International Workers' Day, he commended Nigerian workers for their selfless service, in spite of several challenges threatening to stifle their hard work.
?Ali Ahmad requested that the government and private organisations should make a priority of workers' welfare, as such humane gesture would further encourage hard ?work towards Nigeria's development.
?He also challenged the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to use the occasion to harmonise all factions within the union to encourage indivisibility. The Speaker urged all labour unions to cooperate with President Muhammadu Buhari's administration to make lives more meaningful for every Nigerians.
He also advised unions to embrace dialogue, especially as it affect their members, rather than resorting to industrial action which would further affect the economy.
