NYCN commends industrialist for creating jobs for youths
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has lauded the Chief Executive Officer of Kam Industries , Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf, for creating jobs for youths in the state.
The Kwara chapter of the council made the commended in a statement on Sunday in Ilorin jointly signed by its Chairman, Mr Kazeem Adekanye, and Secretary, Mr Shehu Usman.
It hailed the management of the company for playing great role in addressing the unemployment challenges in the country. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on April 26, laid the foundation for Kam Steel Integrated Complex at Jimba Oja, a suburb of Ilorin. "We commend him and give kudos to him for the good efforts aimed at reducing youth unemployment rate in the country.
"The biting effect of unemployment is mostly felt by the youths and anyone identified as one playing role in providing employment opportunities for the youth deserves special commendations and prayers. "We must also commend the State Government synergy with the private and non-formal sector of the business community in the state. "We are happy to note that the Kwara government is providing enabling and conducive environment for businesses to thrive," the statement read in part.
The council noted that it was not surprising that the state was not becoming a hub for doing businesses following the ingenuity of the Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed. "Government is not saddled with the sole responsibility of providing employment for the people. "Its primary role is to provide conducive environment for businesses to thrive through enabling laws, provision of social amenities and easing and softening of ground for investors.
"We note in particular the success recorded in improving the state IGR through an efficient and well organised tax collection system. "We urge the ?youths to eschew all forms of anti social activities especially drug abuse as the abuse of drugs is the root of all social vices," it said.
