When Princess Adedoyin empowered her people

A House of Representatives member representing Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Irepodun and Isin Constituency in Kwara State, Princess Funke Adedoyin last Tuesday brought succour and smiles on the faces of her people by empowering them with tricycles and sewing machines worth several millions of naira.

This was done in fulfillment of her promises during the electioneering campaign that dividend of democracy would be brought to their door steps. The well-attended empowerment programme was held in Osi, Ilofa, Omu-Aran and Oke-Onigbin in Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Irepodun and Isin Local Government Areas respectively.

Artisans, elders, youths, women in politics, youth, motor cycle ridders ,tricycle ridders and political stalwarts thronged the venue to witness the empowerment programme. The shout of APC ; Change! rented the venue as people sang all kinds of songs to shower praises and encomium on Princess Adedoyin for not disappointing them.

In fact, the beneficiaries and different groups jubilated to express their joy, as many explained that the goodies came at appropriate time when people were passing through hard times.

The community members which include; artisans, elders, youths, women in politics thanked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki for giving Princess Adedoyin opportunity to serve her people.

The empowerment was witnessed by people from all walks of life, including members of the state House of Assembly, Councilors, former Special Advisers/Assistants, party stalwarts, friends, well wishers and concerned citizens.

Religious leaders at the programmes prayed God to grant Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senator Bukola Saraki and Princess Adedoyin to continue to guide and bless them with wisdom, knowledge and understanding to perform their jobs dutifully.

The donor, speaking through her representative, former S.A. Judiciary Matters who doubles as Director General, Princess Funke Adedoyin's projects ,Barrister Teju Oguntoye while reading her address, said the donor has decided to focus on empowerment of trade groups within the LGs.

"I have decided to focus on provision of potable water; tarring and or surface dressing of selected roads across the four LGs; facilitate construction and renovation of classrooms; empowerment of men and women for gainful employment among others", she stated.

"On the tricycles which we are giving out today to our "good boys" it is our conviction that it is lack of gainful employment that led to these able body men to what they are forced to do by necessities of keeping soul and body together.

"In the case of the sewing machines, our focus is on young tailors without means of buying machine. We have information that numbers of tailors who have gotten freedom from their various masters but are unable to acquire sewing machine", she narrated.

Former S.A. Labour Matters, Comrade Bisi Fakayode expressed the donor's appreciation to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, Senator Bukola Saraki and the people in her constituency for giving her opportunity to serve . He thanked the people for supporting her, saying that she would not betray the confidence reposed on her.

APC chairman in Irepodun LGA, Elder Bisi Owolabi described Funke Adedoyin as a good ambassador who has always made lives meaningful for the people, thanking her for free health care services and concerted efforts she is making to get jobs for the youth at national level.

According to Elder Ayo Awoniyi at Oke-Onigbin in Isin LG, "We have every course to throw our weight behind our leaders at all time, because of monumental development in our areas. A tricycle beneficiary in Ekiti LGA, Sunday Aro also commended the donor for the gesture, promised to use it judiciously.

Also commenting on the empowerment , Hon Ezekiel Gbadeyan thanked Princess Adedoyin for putting smiles on the faces of the people ,imploring her not to renege in her efforts but do more.
