Don't Drag The Emir Into Politics, Ilorin Youths Warn Sahara Reporters

Date: 2016-03-18

THE Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, IEYDA, has expressed disappointment over a publication by an online media, (Sahara reporters) causing disaffection and over heating the polity by engaging in an attack on the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

It would be recalled that Sahara reporters had in its recent publication entitled: ""How Saraki turned Emir of Ilorin into house boy" gave misleading information and made unfounded statements on the person of the Emir.

In a statement signed by its President and Public Relations Officer of the Association, Alhaji Babatunde Salaudeen and Mallam Uthman Jagunmo respectively, ?the union warned the author of the article to make clear demarcation from politics and traditional institution stressing such words does not befit the monarch.

While warning the authority of Sahara reporters and it's accomplice to desist from dragging the Emir of Ilorin into political mud, the association maintained the monarch remain as father? to all and sundry in the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and even beyond.

There is no gain saying that the Senate President, Dr. Bukola ?Saraki, is a son to him and that he is also the Turaki of Ilorin. It behoves the Emir to accord one of his subjects the privilege of identifying with him provided you believe and have absolute regard for the stool of Shehu Alimi.

According to the statement, "We therefore made bold to condemn the unfounded, frivolous, mischievous as well as unwarranted contents as contained in the article which does not respect the truth about His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin. The article is not only misleading but it can also cause chaos in the society.

"It is however evident that the mastermind of the evil work has indeed derailed and also lost sense of history about the reign of the monarch which has in the past 25 years brought about peaceful co-existence among the entire citizenry of the state." The writer also ignorantly claimed that the Makama of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Oniye, has been suspended and banned fro palace activities with no concrete evidence(s).

It is however saddening to note that the writers has with article embark on a fruitless journey which will end him to no where as Alhaji Oniye remains the Makama of Ilorin with absolute trust and competence as pronounced by the Emir of Ilorin while dispelling the rumour.

While disclosing that the stool of the Emir of Ilorin his highly respected and sacred the statement said: "We therefore appealed to the general public to endeavour to filter information thoroughly before consumption in the interest of peace, harmony and tranquility on our land."

On the issue of the Senate President, the IEYDA associates with Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Taraki of Ilorin Emirate and Turaki Raya Kasa Nupe, as a true son and a good ambassador of the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general. "Whoever is not contented with this position is free to hold a contrary opinion but shouldn't result into cheap blackmail and soiling of our heritage."
