A Chief Magistrate Court in Ilorin yesterday remanded a 48-year-old legal practitioner, Benjamin Onyeabo over alleged N11 million fraud.

Chief Magistrate MA. Adeyanju ordered his remand at the Federal Prison in Oku-kura, Ilorin.

Daily Trust gathered from the complainant that Onyeabor conspired with one Dominic Ochi to fraudulently prepare and file terms of settlement in a case which led to a court judgment ordering the payment of N11.6m which the accused allegedly collected from the court on behalf of his client since December 2014.

The prosecution said police investigation revealed that the suspects, Benjamin Onyeabo and Dominic Ochi conspired and fraudulently obtained the court judgment without the consent of the petitioner and that they converted the proceeds of the judgment to their personal use.
