Unilorin VC eulogizes Kwara Speaker's political, academic achievements
The Vice- Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali has said that the institution is very proud and delighted with the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad's achievements over the years in academics and political environment.
The Vice-Chancellor, represented at the annual public lecture of Liberty Chambers of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin in honour of the Speaker by Professor Isaac Olohundare, described Ahmad as one of the great ambassadors of the institution.
The Speaker before venturing into politics in 2005 had served as the Dean of the Law Faculty, University of Ilorin.
Ambali while speaking at the ceremony described Ahmad as somebody that is versed in his field, very reliable and dependable, adding that he is a blessing to the state and Nigeria as a whole.
He said that the former dean has been a role model to many lecturers and students of the institution stressing that the university have missed him but consoled as Ahmad never ceased to impact positively wherever he has served since he ventured into politics.
Earlier in his address, the Faculty Dean, Dr Ibrahim Arowoshaiye stated that the honoree's choice was not a subject of debate as Nigerians are conversant with his contributions and accomplishment in legal education and lawmaking history in Nigeria.
Arowoshaiye described Ali Ahmad as an ambassador of hope to Nigerian youths, adding that the country is in dire need of many like him who would continue to inspire the youths to have the minds of rendering quality services to the nation.
He noted that the faculty has continued to improve for better since the Speaker's departure by upholding and sustaining the legacy left behind and guided by ethics of the law profession.
