Buhari To Inaugurate FEC Wednesday

All is now set for the swearing-in of the 36 ministers-designate who have scaled the hurdle of senate screening and the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

The President will also swear-in the newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and five national commissioners of the electoral body today (Monday) following their approval by the Senate.

As a precursor to the administration of oath of office to them, the ministers- designate had ended a two-day induction programme on Friday at the Conference Hall of the State House, Abuja.

A statement issued on Sunday by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the inauguration of the ministers which is scheduled for 10am, and would be swiftly followed by the inaugural session of FEC in the Council Chamber at the Presidential Villa.

The statement read: "President Muhammadu Buhari will officially inaugurate a new Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

"Before the commencement of the inaugural session of the council, the ministers-designate will take their oaths of office in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.

"The swearing-in ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 Hours and the ministers-designate are expected to be seated in the Council Chambers by 09:30 Hours at the latest."
