Kwara gov praises Eaglets
Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has commended the Golden Eaglets for beating Brazil 3-0 in their Chile 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup quarterfinal game.
However, Ahmed warned that the defending champions should not let the victory go to their heads.
Ahmed, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Abdulwahab Oba, urged the team to work harder for victory in their semifinal clash against Mexico on Thursday.
"There is no praise for those who will not win the ultimate prize," the governor said.
"The Brazilians were good before you bundled them out in a dramatic fashion. But having 'slain' the giants from South America, we should not forget that the remaining teams could be bigger giants."
He canvassed the establishment of more football academies "after the pattern of Kwara State Football Academy to enable the country to become a great exporter of footballers."
