Kwara Poly Plans Anti- corruption Unit

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin has announced plan to set up anti-corruption and transparency unit to curb social vices among students and staff .

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Alh Mas'ud Elelu made this known during a reception in honour of a former Head, department of legal studies in the institution, Barrister Joseph Bamigboye, who was recently earned the prestigeous title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) .

Elelu said the unit will comprises men of proven integrity and legal experts that will champion the institution's anti-corruption crusade.

"We have concluded arrangements to set-up anti-corruption and transparency unit,we have identified the person that will head that unit and it will be inaugurated soon," the rector said.

He said the institution will continue to support and encourage staff to reach the peak of their careers and disciplines.

He noted that the attainment of SAN by Barrister Bamigboye, a lecturer in the legal studies department was the first of it kinds in the history of the polytechnic since it was establishment over 40 years ago.

He said the Polytechnic in recent times has not lost any legal battle in court owing to the support and legal adviser it enjoyed from a former staff of the polytechnic who had also been awarded a SAN.
