IPMAN lauds KWHA over checks on illegal petrol stations
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Kwara State chapter, has lauded the efforts of the Kwara State House of Assembly in checking the proliferation of illegal filling stations in residential areas of Ilorin.
IPMAN state chairman, Alhaji Olanrewaju Okanlawon, made this commendation while speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing investigation of the indiscriminate establishment of filling stations in Ilorin metropolis by the state assembly.
He explained that with the setting up of the Kamaldeen Fagbemi-led ad-hoc committee by the House speaker demonstrated that it was sensitive and responsive to the yearnings of the downtrodden, masses and less-privileged who daily contend with the risk of incessant construction of filling stations in their localities. Okanlawon noted that the steps so far taken by the House would encourage any would-be member of the association to always process their documents and take precautionary measures before embarking on the construction of filling stations to ensure safety of lives and property in the state.
The IPMAN chairman explained that as law abiding citizens, members would continue to cooperate with the legislature and state government in a bid to restore sanity in the state. He however, praised the state government for approving the establishment of some petrol stations along Murtala Mohammed Way and Emir Road in Ilorin.
