Union Disowns Leader Over Comments On Saraki

Date: 2015-08-20

Members of the Afonja Descendants union (ADU), Ilorin, Kwara State yesterday dissociated themselves from a statement credited to their National President, Alhaji Olola Kasum, where he purportedly called for probe into the death of former Minister of Works, Gen. Abdulkareem Adisa.

The union denied that it did not at anytime hold a meeting where such issue was discussed. The clarification was contained in a statement issued and signed by Alhaji Hassan Amao, and Alh. Isiaka Owolabi, Assistant National Secretary of the union.

"Similarly, we also want to use this forum to further dissociate ourselves from Ola Kasum's opinion that President Buhari should deal with the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, over the porous and unsubstantiated allegation of forgery at the Senate. We also warn Olola Kasum and his sponsors to desist from using the name of our noble union which is not a political organization to launch unwarranted attacks on the personality of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki. We, as peace loving people, are solidly in support of Dr. Bukola Saraki's Senate Presidency and we shall continue to do all within our means to ensure that his tenure is successful," he said.
