Kwara poly suspends 3 students

The Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has approved the suspension of three students for their alleged involvement in cult activities.

The suspended students are: Adeyemi Ayodele Iretiola, ND/13/PA/FT/1545, Alimi Sikiru ND/13/PA/FT/1640 and Abu Abdulrahman b. ND/13/PA/FT/1752, all of the Public Administration Department.

A statement issued and signed by a Principal Assistant Registrar (Academic) on behalf of the Registrar, stated that the students would be on suspension pending the outcome of on-going investigation.

The statement read: "A report from Oke-Oyi Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Police has been received by the polytechnic authority in respect of your alleged involvement in secret cult activities. Consequently, I am directed to inform you that the management has approved your immediate suspension from the polytechnic, pending outcome of the investigation by the police".

Cultism among students in Kwara State has become an issue of serious concern to both parents and the government.
